Our Events

Every School year, Dance Council has the honor of hosting 3 events that help to provide resources and support for student-run dance groups and the general dance community, and collectively elevates the status and quality of dance at the University of Chicago.

At the start of Fall Quarter, we host the Fall Open House. We host Winter Workshop Day in the Winter Quarter, and we host Where Fun Comes To Dance (WFCTD) in the Spring Quarter.

Fall Open House

At the start of each Fall Quarter, Dance Council brings together the different dance groups on campus for an evening performance, followed by a meet and greet with the groups. This is UChicago’s largest dance event in the fall, and it allows RSOs to attract new member for the coming year.

Winter Workshop Day

Winter Workshop Day welcomes different dance groups across campus to bring various dance styles under one roof. Through 40-minute workshops, you will learn different choreographies to add to your dance portfolio, with styles ranging from contemporary dance to hip hop!

Where Fun Comes to Dance (WFCTD)

Where Fun Comes to Dance is the University of Chicago's biggest dance event of the year, the year-end showcase of all dance organizations on campus. The show is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for the members of our university community to see what hundreds of dance performers have been working on all year. In addition to being the only event on campus that features all member RSOs and showcases the diversity of dance on campus, Where Fun Comes to Dance is presented to the University free of charge, to allow as many University affiliates and community members as possible to celebrate the vibrant dance community at UChicago.
